[MalxAnki] Peace

It was one of those rare days when the house was still. Half of its occupants were out and the other half were keeping to themselves. Aside from the odd shuffling from one as they walked past and the ticking of nearby clocks, there wasn't a sound to disturb the air.

Ankoku and Malsvir had the living room to themselves. The former was sat idly flicking through a magazine while the latter had his nose buried in one of his many books. They had no idea how long they had been sat there together, in the silence, but neither seemed to be complaining, and were enjoying each other's company.

The weight against Ankoku's thigh was something of a comfort, telling him that the Dragon Master was still there, his head against his leg while the rest of him splayed out across the sofa. But he was starting to lose the feeling in his foot.

"Hey Dragon Boy, my leg's gone dead, can you move?"

He found it strange that he didn't get a response.

"Mal? Malsvir?"

Moving the magazine aside, he looked down, and found that the wizard had fallen asleep. In truth, he wasn't really surprised, given how easily Malsvir could fall asleep.

He watched him for a moment, the rise and fall of his chest underneath his open book, the calm on his tired face. Ankoku found himself relaxing further into the couch. Malsvir always looked so peaceful when he slept. And no wonder, real life had been hell for Malsvir, it was no surprise that he slept so often.

There was no point in trying to wake him, he would either fall back asleep again or not respond at all; he was a heavy sleeper. Besides, past evidence showed that being forced awake put him in a bad mood. Best to let him wake up in his own time.

A smile found its way onto Ankoku's face as he watched the other man at peace.

He could deal with a dead leg for a while.
